What is a clinical trial?+
A clinical trial is a research study conducted with human participants to evaluate whether a new medical treatment, drug, or device is safe and effective. All trials in our network are approved by independent ethics boards before enrollment opens.
Is participation free?+
Yes. Participating in a clinical trial through our network costs you nothing. Study-related procedures and investigational medications are covered by the study sponsor. Many studies also provide compensation for your time and any travel involved.
Can I leave a study if I change my mind?+
Absolutely. Participation is always voluntary. You can withdraw from any study at any time, for any reason, without penalty or any impact on your regular medical care.
What is a placebo and will I receive one?+
A placebo is an inactive treatment used for comparison purposes in some studies. Not all trials use them. Before enrollment, you will receive full informed consent documentation explaining what you may receive and in what proportion.
How do I know if a study is safe?+
Every study we list has been reviewed by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) — an independent committee that evaluates trials for safety and ethical standards. Studies are also monitored continuously by data safety monitoring boards throughout the trial period.
Will my information be shared with anyone?+
Nexus Medical Network does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties or affiliate marketers. Any data collected during a study is governed by that study's own privacy protocols and applicable federal law, including HIPAA.
How long do trials typically last?+
Trial durations vary widely — from a single outpatient visit to multi-year studies. Every listing on our platform clearly states the expected time commitment before you apply.
